Victoria Martinez came to the 21 Artists space prepared with fabric, found objects, paper and a keen sense for color and pattern, collaging together pieces of bright materials interspersed with drawings by artist-in-residence Meg Peterson.

About Victoria Martinez:
Victoria Martinez is an interdisciplinary artist from Chicago who received her BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2010. She recently performed at New Capital, completed a residency at Spudnik Press, exhibited at the National Museum of Mexican Art, Woman Made Gallery, and was a featured artist for Chicago Artists Month. Her work has been highlighted in Contratiempo, The Gate Newspaper, Make Space and The Chicago Weekly. Martinez will have a solo show in Minneapolis at ditch. Gallery in February.
